Nathan has a strong conviction that dance can communicate through the body, things that words cannot. What he loves about zouk is its conversational nature; a free and improvised back and forth between partners. Before joining Rio Zouk Fusion he danced salsa in his home city of Melbourne and also performed in musical theatre.

Outside of dance, Nathan is an architectural designer who works through film, animation and code to create lyrical fictions about the future of the city. He thinks that power of zouk to bring together people from all backgrounds and interests to engage in a dance that can be technical and intuitive, graceful and energetic is nothing short of magic!
